Jean Claude Ellena

Born in a family of perfumers in Grasse, Jean-Claude Ellena learns his profession at age 17. Then from Grasse to Paris, going through New York and Geneva, he attends the most prestigious laboratories where he sees himself as an autodidact. Very much influenced by Edmond Roudnitska, he writes short and not very concentrated formulas to reinforce the subtelty and expressivity of his compositions. Inspired by daily life, Jean-Claude Ellena likes saying, "perfume, a smell history, is a poetry of souvenirs, and mainly the creation of the spirit."
